Four Toronto Lynx Juniors Alumni are competing this week in NCAA action, and against each other!  Shaelyn McNamara and Amanda Forest from West Virginia Weslyan, Sabrina Mottershead from Notre Dame Ohio, and Ashley Taite from Stroudsburg.

 
All Four Lady Lynx Alumni are competing for third round advancement this weekend. West Virginia Weslyan defeated Notre Dame today 1-0 and now will meet the #2 ranked Stoudsburg team Sunday.  All girls joined the Lynx at U16!

 

TORONTO LYNX PLAYERS AWARDED ALL GLIAC HONOURS

 

Toronto Lynx U20/PDL player Anthony Novak earned First Team honours as a midfielder.  A solid competitor for the Storm throughout year, Novak scored two goals and assisted on one more.  He had the game winning goal on a penalty shot against Saginaw Valley State University on Oct. 17. 
Anthony has been with the Toronto Lynx since he was U14.

Toronto Lynx U20 player Nolyn Do Nascimento earned Second Team honors

 
  as a midfielder after being an Honorable Mention in 2013.  He  was the quarterback of the Storm's midfield, filtering the ball with ease while getting around defenders with fancy footwork. Nolyn has been a Lynx player since U15.  

                    
  October 13, 2014- Brooklyn New York-     The Toronto Lynx Juniors U17/U18 boys travelled to Brooklyn NY to participate in the Brooklyn Italians Columbus Cup tournament, coming away as Champions!  Congratulations Boys!  

U16 LYNX KEEPER ON TRIALS AT MANCHESTER CITY

 

U16 Lynx Jr. Nav Deo has just returned from a 3 week trial period in England where the English Premier League Champions Manchester City invited Nav for trials following his standout performances for Toronto during the Lynx March Break UK Soccer Tour.

  Nav was also invited to visit Burnley and Chelsea FC with both clubs showing interest to have him trial following the completion of his current school year.
"I was mainly in the Manchester area at City's Platt lane training ground, the experience was a dream come true" Nav commented. "The highlight for me was playing for City against Manchester United Academy and being on the winning team".  We will remain in touch with all 3 Clubs over the winter in anticipation of what comes next!   Click to read more  

U17 MIDFIELDER ON TRIAL WITH U20 JAMAICAN NATIONAL TEAM

SEPT 9, 2014- U17 Lynx Jr. Lee Nicholson has just returned from trials with the U20 Jamaican National team.  He was identified playing for the Toronto Lynx in the Dixie Umbro Showcase earlier this summer and had the opportunity to attend a 5 day trial in Kingston Jamaica.  Lee explained "the overall feeling of having the chance to play for Jamaica's National Team is almost overwhelming"
  When asked how he felt his performance was while on trial he told us, "I personally believe that my overall performance was good enough to impress the coaches and I hope to be contacted by them again very soon for a camp in October"
Lee is back in Toronto and in full training with the Lynx preparing for his upcoming tournament and showcase season.  Click to read more

LYNX TO HOST GAMES IN OAKVILLE

 
 

TORONTO-April 23, 2014

 
 

The Toronto Lynx announced today that a number of their 2014 USL games will be hosted at Sheridan College in Oakville this season. Due to the planned Pan Am games refurbishment of regular home Centennial Park stadium and the resulting limited access, the Lynx will play 6 PDL and 2 W League games at the recently modernised Oakville campus stadium.

Lynx Head Coach Duncan Wilde commented "As a long time Oakville resident, I am thrilled  we have managed to find such an

 excellent location to resolve our stadium issues for the upcoming season. Sheridan College have been fantastic to work with. We have also met with the Oakville Soccer Club, whom we have had a very strong and long term relationship with over the years and we have presented an opportunity for their members to attend the games and become involved in our game day presentations."

MCNAMARA, WILDE RETURN TO THE LYNX

The Toronto Lynx began their 2014 PDL roster building, by announcing the re signing of Two former captains, Taylor McNamara and Macca Wilde for the upcoming season. Both are long serving players within the USL, coming through the Junior Academy SYL teams. They both also captained Lynx U20 teams to North American Finals.

 
McNamara and Wilde are re joined on the new Lynx roster by "2012/2013 Most valued player", Leigh Veidman.Toronto also secured the re signing of Lynx Goalkeeper Matthew Silva. Matt will also return for his Third year of PDL, following his graduation in the spring from Le Moyne College in New York where he earned the school record for most career shutouts.  Click to Read More

Amanda Forest- 2013 MEC All-Tournament Team

FAIRMONT, W.Va. -- West Virginia Wesleyan claimed the 2013 Mountain East Conference Tournament championship by defeating Notre Dame College 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Duvall-Rosier Field.  Read More Here

Team mate at West Virginia Wesleyan and Lady Lynx Shae McNamara is also part of the winning conference champs.  Both girls have been with the Toronto Lynx since U16!

Nolyn Do Nascimento- All GLIAC Mentions for Lake Erie College

Freshman Nolyn Do Nascimento   was named a Honorable Mention to the All-Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference teams.  A midfielder, Do Nascimento recorded the game-winning goal on the road in overtime against Northwood University on Oct. 20. 
Nolyn has been with the Toronto Lynx since U15.  

"Toronto Lynx U17 Boys claims New York Championship"
The Toronto Lynx Juniors U17 boys recently claimed the U19 Division Championship at the Columbus Cup tournament in Brooklyn New York. The tournament is a key part of the clubs preparations for the upcoming Super Y League, North American Championships in Florida in December. It was the 5th consecutive year the Toronto Lynx claimed the U19 trophy at this event.

HAMMOND – After helping the Southeastern Louisiana women's soccer team to two key road victories, freshman goalkeeper Hope Sabadash both received weekly honors from the Southland Conference, the league office announced on Tuesday.

 in Algarve Cup
Eve plays 90 for the Republic of Ireland
Algarve, Portugal – Toronto Lynx U20 Woman's Keeper  Eve Badana earned her first cap for the Republic of Ireland women's senior team. Badana has been on the roster for Ireland for just under a year earning her first start against Hungary today playing all 90 minutes. The match was in the first round of the 19th annual Algarve Cup held in Portugal. Ireland fell 1-0 to Hungary. Badana and the Irish, in group C, take on Wales Friday, March 2
in a match scheduled for 5:00 p.m.

Taylor (Mikael) McNamara Returns to Dayton Dutch Lions

DAYTON, Ohio -- The Dayton Dutch Lions FC are pleased to announce midfielder Mikael McNamara will play his second year for the Dutch Lions FC in USL PRO. DDL FC re-signed the 25-year-old Canadian for the 2012 season after he made 18 appearances in the 2011 season.

 
 

McNamara was named Most Valuable Player at SUNY Albany in his Junior year of college,
and was the captain of the USL PDL's Toronto Lynx for two years before he signed a contract with the Dutch-American club. McNamara had three goals in 10 games
during the 2010 PDL season for the Lynx.

 
  McNamara has great expectations for the coming season; "I hope to better myself as a player and add my skills to a successful Dayton Dutch Lions FC season."  Click to read

The Toronto Lynx’s Konner McNamara, has moved through the club’s program, from playing in its Super Y-League program into the Super-20 League and ultimately the PDL. Now the tall center back is aiming to move into the professional ranks, and a good showing at the USL PRO Combine presented by Umbro might help him reach that goal.

TORONTO LYNX ADD U21 TEAM FOR 2012

February 2, 2012 -U21 Provincial League Addition

The Toronto Lynx Soccer Club today announced the addition of a Men's U21 team to compete in the U21 Provincial Division of the Ontario Soccer League in 2012.

" We are very excited about this opportunity to play and compete in more games here in Toronto" commented Club Head Coach Duncan Wilde. "We have a very strong senior player pool and this level of competition will prove vital as we continue the development process in preparation for the next step into our PDL team at U23" he added.
The Toronto Lynx PDL, USL U20's and now OSL U21's will all train daily throughout
the season at Centennial Park Stadium.

A. McKenna K. McNamara Academy Director and PDL Coach Duncan Wilde is very proud to announce that 2  PDL players have been selected to attend the USL Men's Player Combine.
Midfielder Aaron McKenna and Defender Konnor McNamara will be doing their best to showcase themselves in front
of the attending USL and MLS scouts and International Pro Clubs with hopes of securing a pro contract.
Connor started with the Lynx Academy, moving up through U20 and into PDL while completing his University scholarship.   Aaron joined the PDL squad last year.  We would all like to wish Konnor and Aaron the very best of luck!!!!

     The Lynx organization confirmed earlier today that Sabrina D’Angelo and Eve Badana have both been selected to the U17 National team, scheduled to depart this week for final preparations for the U17 World Cup, which begins on September 5th in Trinidad and Tobago.   Both girls are following in the footsteps of Lady Lynx #1 Justine Bernier, recently selected for the Senior Ladies National team training camp being hosted in Rome, Italy, to include an exhibition game against Germany on September 15th in Dresden.  Justine has previously represented Canada at both the U18 and U20 age levels.   CLICK TO READ MORE.....

The Toronto Lynx Soccer Club proudly announce the inclusion of 3 players from the clubs PDL program for participation in the Canadian Olympic training camp being held at the Holiday Inn Sunrise in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The camp will begin preparations for the 2012 Men’s Olympic Football Tournament in London, England.
Former U20 Lynx captain and current PDL midfield player Dane Roberts returns to the National program following his previous involvement.  Defender Taylor Lord follows his recent selection for the U20 Francophone games team, with his first involvement with the Olympic squad.  Current U20 Lynx Captain and PDL Centre Back Konner McNamara, receives his first official invitation at National team level.
All three players have been with the Toronto Lynx Academy since U15 and have worked very hard to attain their goals of scholarships and now inclusion to the Canadian Olympic camp.
"The wholeToronto Lynx organization is extremely proud of the accomplishments of our 3 senior players, and they are all very excited about their inclusion", stated Head Coach Duncan Wilde. "It is fantastic encouragement for every player in our program. Our best wishes go to them, Coach Fonseca and the whole Canadian squad for a successful camp this week".
