LYNX SEND 3 PLAYERS TO CANADIAN U23 OLYMPIC CAMP!!
January 11, 2010
McNamara Roberts Lord   CLICK for CSA Announcement
The Toronto Lynx Soccer Club proudly announce the inclusion of 3 players from the clubs PDL program for participation in the Canadian Olympic training camp being held at the Holiday Inn Sunrise in Fort Lauderdale, FL. The camp will begin preparations for the 2012 Menís Olympic Football Tournament in London, England.
Former U20 Lynx captain and current PDL midfield player Dane Roberts returns to the National program following his previous involvement.  Defender Taylor Lord follows his recent selection for the U20 Francophone games team, with his first involvement with the Olympic squad.  Current U20 Lynx Captain and PDL Centre Back Konner McNamara, receives his first official invitation at National team level.
All three players have been with the Toronto Lynx Academy since U15 and have worked very hard to attain their goals of scholarships and now inclusion to the Canadian Olympic camp.
"The wholeToronto Lynx organization is extremely proud of the accomplishments of our 3 senior players, and they are all very excited about their inclusion", stated Head Coach Duncan Wilde. "It is fantastic encouragement for every player in our program. Our best wishes go to them, Coach Fonseca and the whole Canadian squad for a successful camp this week".

TWO LYNX  NAMED TO CANADIAN NATIONAL TEAM
August 15, 2009
The Toronto Lynx are extremely proud to announce the selection of their U20 Captains, Mackenzie Wilde and Konner McNamara into the Canadian National U20 squad, for the world Francophone games in late September. Unfortunately due to NCAA restrictions, Konner will be unavailable to participate. Macca will join the squad in Cyprus on September 16th for training camp, before going onto Lebanon for the tournament one week later.
"The CSA have selected many U19's for this event and it is a fantastic opportunity for this younger age group to spend some time with the National program during this competition" commented Head Coach Duncan Wilde. " I am particularly pleased to see that the National team scouting system is not only aware of what we are doing here, but they have recognised our efforts and are watching our boys  play at both U20 and at PDL level. It is very exciting"
Both players have developed well through the Junior Lynx system. They have both played in 3 SYL National championships, 3 U20 National Championships, together with stepping up to the PDL squad in 2009 and they both still have one more year of eligibility at Under 20. Hopefully this National team recognition is inspiration for our all our players, as we continue challenging the best programs across North America and here at home also.
We hope to see Konner get his opportunity in the near future and we'll look forward to seeing Macca represent our program in our National team colours next month.
